My first time on Match.com and I do believe this guy was trying to scam me. I can’t be sure because I haven’t seen anything on him but here is what happened.

I am a widow to start. He started talking to me on Match and within just a few days I was the one that God had made for him. He had been married but lost his wife to breast cancer. He was an engineer that built roads, log homes and hotels. He had one son 12 years old. They had no other family and he was from Spain.

I did try to get informaiton on him but no where on the internet could I find him and he owned his own company? Oh but the company didn’t have a name yet, red flag. We kept on talking and he kept sending the sweetest emails and was so nice to hear nice things.

He had a project to do in West Africa that was going to take 3 weeks and he made it there yesterday. Today his son got sick and had to be put in hospital and needed surgery, the doctor would not do surgery without $400 down payment. I was wondering when he was going to get around to asking me for money. Anyway he sent me a fake bank statement that said he had $200K on hold to be deposited but he couldn’t get to his money yet.

i did inform him I would be reporting him and got a very nasty text back from him. Again if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. He kept leaving a little doubt in my mind as I wanted it all to be true but in the end nope just a scarm or at least that is what I think.

Anyone else have this problem? I do have phone numbers email and something called textmenow.

i feel so silly but I wanted it to be true so bad. Iw ould like to post pics but I am pretty sure they aren’t of him and I don’t wnat to ruin anyone’s name.

My email is rpurdon41056@yahoo.com if you would like to know more or have similar story. This online dating stuff is about for the birds.

  1. I’m sorry I ddidnt keep a picture of him. He was a very nice looking guy tho whoever the guy was. He had black hair and if I remember correctly he had one pic where he was standing in a beautiful room with a beautiful vase behind him.

Your story sounds like mine. I would not send him one penny. Tell him that you are on to him and know he’s trying to scam you. See how he reacts he will try to prove he’s real. Then when he sees you’re not sending him money see how he reacts.

I’m sorry but I’m so suspicious of people now. Please don’t send him any money if you’re like me you work too hard for your money.

  2. I have been dealing with a gentleman by the name of Scott Henderson, who told me a similar story about having a big project (building a road) in Cotonou, Africa and would be there for 3 weeks…he asked me to send him money to buy food because the hotel would not deliver his food on time…I asked why he didn’t bring a credit card or anything with him, he said he was afraid he might get mugged while he was there and the people who hired him would take care of his room and board while he was there…then recently one of his workers had an accident on the job site and he was required to pay for the workers medical bills (head trauma)…he would not be able to leave the country until it was paid for…he needed $3000..he said a friend wired him $1000 of it but he didn’t have any way to pay the rest…I told him I didn’t have it…he supposedly owns his own construction company in Oswego, NY..when I googled his phone# it pulled up the business and one of the photos of him he sent, however, the website listed is not available…he is not listed with the BBB…when I google the address listed on manta, it is a house…he does not have a FB or even Linked in account….I simply cannot find any information on this guy and it seems very suspect. I just wondered if you had a photo of the man who you were dealing with to see if he is the same person or not. I also feel nervous about this and just recently tried the online dating stuff and it has not been too great at all….I attached the photo he sent me. Please let me know if he is the same person please. Thanks
